Great Southern Hotel Melbourne

I came for woolies luncheon for working there 25+yrs and the hotel is very close to the train station and the exhibition building

Clean,comfortable standard room , great little bathroom off to side with decent sized shower. Plenty of storage space in cupboard/around room. Queen bed was nice and comfy. Free WiFi, smart TV, good instant coffee / milk , sugar coffee mug , cutlery provided, mini bar fridge. Good laundry facilities, indoor outdoor smoking / vaping lounge. Overall Great value for money, perfect location so close to Southern Cross station/ Spencer St shopping outet. Perfect for solo travellers or couples!

the distant from the room to the lift,,

3 80 year old ladies stayed for 2 nights then back for further 4 nights 1st time room with king side bed and 2 singles plus sitting room, Found shower over bath to be slippery but overcome that by placing towel in the bottom also no safety rails 2nd Visit room with king size bed and 2 singles better as bathroom shower had safety rails whilst no room service on either occasion not problem could always get extra towel etc from staff and rubbish collection bins on the floor. Location ideal - for plane travellers catching bus in. The Breakfast both continental and cooked very good value and well presented. Have recommended to several people already

I am of the older generation 😞 I was so pleased with the 1st floor,I don’t like lifts,so used the stairs and there wasn’t many stairs 🙂 thought our stay there was great value for money!! The price was great,what we got for what it cost,we thought it was great value,along with the $9 continental breakfast was the icing on the cake!! Location was great! Once we entered the hotel,it left all the noise behind,we heard no traffic,which was a concern for us,we live in a quiet coastal town,that is greatly populated by shack owners that are only there on holidays,so it is quiet with little to no traffic noise! We have had many problems in the past with traffic noise late into,or all night affecting our sleep! We both slept well,which is testament to the comfiness of the atmosphere and bed 🙂 all staff were friendly and helpful 🙂 Thank u for having us,we will be back in the state for the football within the next few months and we intend on staying with you again!
